Macquarie Group’s Martin Place Towers are we revealed last year on Build Sydney have crossed yet another hurdle & have been approved by the Department of Planning & Environment according to the determination notice on its website.

For those who are unaware of the development, it will feature two towers, the first of which will be a 40 story office tower & the second will be a 28 story office tower above the existing Podium on Martin Place, this development is designed by Grimshaw and Johnson Pilton Walker.

Both towers will be built above the future Martin Place Metro Station which will be fully operational in 2024 once the Sydney Metro Stage 2 has been fully completed, this is known as the Martin Place Metro Station Over Station Development.

The value of the development is $637,000,000 & it is considered as a state significant development better known as SSD by the department of planning & environment.

It is expected that the towers would be finished by the opening of the Sydney Metro which is scheduled to complete in 2024.
