The Bays Precinct will Become Sydney’s Innovation Hub

The Bays precinct is Sydney which sits just 2 nautical kilometres from the CBD will become Sydney’s version of Silicon Valley. This is easily the most exciting precinct especially now that Barangaroo has finished its commercial towers and will now make a start of the Crown Casino Sydney & soon after the Sydney Harbour apartments.

It has also been reported that the tech powerhouse Google has been inquiring about the White Bay Power Station to host Google’s new flagship Sydney office for the company. This will mean jobs & potentially bring outside technology talent into the area.

The government is pushing for the Bays Precinct to become a fully integrated technology hub so if they can secure Google as a major tenant then that will definitely be a step in the right direction for the region.

The graph below as provided by UrbanGrowth shows us the six designated zones of The Bays Precinct. It is not yet known which will be dedicated to the technology innovation hub, however we believe that zone 3 would be very likely as it has already had interest from Google as stated above & has been confirmed on UrbanGrowth’s Official website.

The Bays Precinct is in the perfect location for an innovation hub. It will be a future transport hub as the NSW Government has announced the Sydney Metro West will be going from Central, stopping at The Bays Precinct & then going on to Parramatta. The final number of stops has yet to be announced at this point.

The total area of The Bays Precinct will be 95 hectares easily making this future development one of the biggest urban renewal projects in Australia’s history.
